Half day and full day

Half day or full day?

Both are available. The right answer depends on the child's age, sleep pattern and the family's day.

This is what we discuss most in enrolment meetings. There is no single right answer; the child's age, sleep pattern, tolerance for a busy room and the family's working hours all come into it.

Half day · 08:00-13:00

Covers the morning welcome, breakfast, morning circle, the main activity, garden time and lunch. Usually easier for children who are new to school and still nap at home in the afternoon.

Full day · until 18:00

Adds the afternoon rest, the day's workshop, the afternoon meal and free play. Suits working families and children who have settled in.

What to weigh up

  • Does your child still nap in the afternoon? We have a rest hour, but napping at home can be easier in the first term.
  • How tired are they by the end of the day? Overtiredness turns into difficult evenings at home.
  • Are they just starting? Beginning with half days and moving to full days is gentler for most children.
  • What does the family's day look like? A child feels both a rushed pick-up and a late one.

You can start with half days and move to full days during the year. We decide together, when the child is ready.

Come and see the school

Choosing a preschool online is hard. You need to walk in, feel the place and hear the children.
