Dal · ages 4-5
Dal group: the age of questions
Four and five years old. We answer "why" with an experiment, not a sentence.
In the Dal group a child starts questioning the world. Dozens of "why"s arrive in a day, and most of them could be answered in a sentence. We prefer not to. We set up an experiment instead, because what a child finds out by looking is what they keep.
Project-based learning
Instead of squeezing a subject into a single activity, we spread it over weeks. A seed is planted, checked every day, drawn, measured, and finally talked about. Science, maths, language and art come together in one piece of work.
What this year is about
Science and nature
Does it sink or float, melt or freeze, what does a seed need. We ask them to guess first, then show.
English lessons
Through songs, games and repetition. Recognition by ear, not memorisation.
Attention span
Starting a task and finishing it. Fifteen unbroken minutes is a real gain at this age.
Working together
Shared work in groups of two or three. The children decide who does what.
English and the other specialist lessons carry a separate fee. Call us for details.
Come and see the school
Choosing a preschool online is hard. You need to walk in, feel the place and hear the children.
